Geography & Geology East Sikkim

Sikkim is part of the Himalayas and thus to assume that the East Sikkim to be full of mountain terrains is a no brainer. East District with a total area of 964 sq km, has sprawling forests in 679 sq km which amounts to 71.17% of the total area. The major terrain features consist of hills, valleys, and slopes. The major river drainage systems are Teesta, Rangpo Chuu and Dik Chhu.
