Indian Himalayan Centre for Adventure & Ecotourism

Indian Himalayan Centre for Adventure & Ecotourism (IHCAE) is located on a hilltop of Chemchey Village, South Sikkim at the altitude of 6582 ft. covering an area of 21.2 acres. The institute is the first of its kind in the entire North East region, it provides high-standard eco-tourism and adventure-related training courses while emphasizing instilling the concept of adventure tourism without causing any environmental degradation. Formally inaugurated by Smt. Kumari Selja, Honorable Union Minister for Tourism / GOI on 07.12.09 in the presence of HCM Sikkim. The institute offers courses on different adventure activities such as mountaineering, rock climbing, paragliding, skiing, rescue operations, and eco-tourism course.
